These redlines upgrades operate in the manner pioneered in Rlp2.

History & Ancient:

1. Rlp2 internal-link and references to added:
   name=rlp / href="ancient.htm#rlp" links, then swapping over block to Ancient, then removed any redenduant non-pure-"#rlp" references within Ancient.
2. Moved name=foot reference (within Ancient).
3. Block of History updates from December 2002AD to present time, added (to History).
4. Entries from THUr^~13/6/2002AD to SUNd^~23/2/2003AD split off, from History to Ancient ([intentionally] including most of the update-block just added).
5. Retained last 4t entry in History, reanchored as "frlatest".
6. Added the very-most recent History-file into History, as "latest"...... causing some confusion, as the latest "latest" required block is the control\tracking file for these very manovers.

Fine. Now only a Unixcat update is outstanding, and then everything will be as up-to-date as is practiable/desirable.

Bug in MeIE discovered, where very long tables will add ghosted-border glitches at their heads and feet.
This bug manifests at around 200 TABLE-Rows.

/Talk:
Minor amendments; Two-TABLE split reformed as one TABLE with a blank row. This way, the columns should line up. Enclosing DIV widened from 65% [of screen width] to 80%, to give automatic column Calc. alg. "breathing room". Links provided for the online newspapers (most empty at this stage, pending research).

FakePage added (roughly). Provision for offline improvements also made.

bday.jpg (A file found through Google®) was uploaded, for remote linking from The Pagoda forum. (Wishing another Post'er a happy birthday.)

FinBig Reprocessed (Relating to s5/IFA):
FinSmall worked fine, as a 1:2 reduction, but FinBig skipped that trick when its enlargement went over the anti-aliasing fontsize limit, and fell back to two colours, or four when 1:2 reduced.
In this situation, the unreduced screengrab is superior, and it is this that is the new replacement.

During updates of Bear, noticed the online version of TheBear.GIF differs from the Archival version: The online is the newer, anti-aliased version, but offline is the older, more colour-accurate version. Downloaded the online version, and History-shifted the Archives.
Parallel to this, trying IG/Paint/Photoshop/MsPaint, to colour-shift, and/or paste over, using copies of both versions, to aim to create a new, colour balance and anti-aliased version.

Started planning to buy freedom.is , after noticed bus.is on BBC2's Working Lunch programme sometime in spring 2005AD.

Switching to php instead of Perl for most application, for the convenience of the Host, until they can run Perl.

Mulled-over discussion of php verses Perl. Vortex reluctant to host Perl at this time. Realised php would probable be easier than SSI, and Perl only needed for advanced search form on hold at moment. Compromise reached. Web-interface uploader to be written in php instead.

Experiments with MsWindows/MsIE built-in ftp client prove sucessful, once realised it's drag-and-drop instead of web/menu-interface. 'Work's like directory viewers, which are the only drag-and-drop on MsWindows, and only then when used with other directory viewers.

Adjusting to writing php instead of Perl and using the MsWindows ftp client easier than expected. Now halfway-through rewriting the code.

Debugging is not easy moving from Perl to php: Perl has the -w switch for showing all errors as a comprehensive report while running, and the -c switch for showing all possible errors without running.
php Has none of this, and only reports one non-descriptive message if you're lucky, and usually pointing to the wrong line number, or the last line of the file if the error is complex. If you're unlucky, it just give's you a blank screen to indicate that it's halted somewhere in the middle of execution.

Interim stationary now in circulation; Headed notepaper sent to the local police for the first time.
File Include, ISML replacement for partial include now ready, along with most of the other componets of FreeSide.

The Forum Handler, development name phpSide, production name-to-be Feedback, subscripts of now working & merged. Able also to be suspended, with a definable reason (for the announcements).
