The Bear is a different place now and the people who made up its former soul are busy chasing each other through the Wiltshire undergrowth in one way or another. Pub Movements Page coming not-very-soon, to explain this. Hotels (he types, having had almost zero experience of life in other Hotels,) have a kind of village community. Village communities have a Where Are They Now postboard, so here follows the equivlent. The people are:

Robin (Cleaner, Security, Historical Research), me!, currently maintaining a Civil Liberties website, and trying to get a job.
Anna (Past Manageress No.1), has asked for information relating to her to be withdrawn from this site. This decision may not apply to this page. Further clarification will be sought.
Karen (Past Manageress No.2/Porter Black's Moonlighter), still in Chippenham, 'drinks in Porter Blacks.
Mo (Past Bar Person/Porter Black's Moonlighter), still in Chippenham, 'drinks in Porter Blacks.
Sophie (Waiteress/Washer-Upper/Upper Washer), studying for her degree at a University somewhere in England [address withheld incase the police get too interested].
Katheryn & Pot (Pillars of the Hotel community [I can't remember what they did, in other words]), address withheld incase the police get too interested, something about Nightclub Promotion, something else about dairy farming. Now married (to each other) and happily living together in Calne.
Elina (Long-serving Head Cleaner/Launderer/Concierge), now retired in SE Chippenham.
Mr. & Mrs. Shackell (Managers from the year Dot), retired, flitting between Canada and London, with rare stops in Chippenham, so the Street says.
Bernie (Manageress between the reign of Mr. & Mrs. Shackell and Anna), Managing The George & Dragon, a small Pub, in the National Trust village of Lacock.
Carlos (refugee from the collapse of Goldiggers Nightclub), moved with his Bar ("Carlos' Bar", formerly "The Little On The Side" (LOTS), as featured in a question on Ch5 "100% Sex" quizshow) first to George's Railway/The Railway, then The Riverside, whereabouts currently unknown.
The last inhabitants, the last human inhabitants anyway, of The Bear before the builders moved in, en masse transplant to The Railway [Pub].
The last inhabitants of The Railway prior to having The Bear popped into it, before it [the Railway] was trashed and left empty with the keys in the door: Currently on the run in the Republic of Ireland. 'Couldn't stand Chippenham life for even another minute, Huh?
Angie & Wes[ley] & Barking Machine (Managers No.3), back running their minichain of Pubs in Nottingham.

New (July 2004AD): Following the sudden takeover of Porter Blacks by an unknown bidder, Lesley (the Freeholder/Shareholder/Manageress) has moved back to Calne and is working as a freelance Publican [expertise and knowledge consultancy rather than being behind a bar]).
