(email retrofication.)
Basically, I regard email as being retrograde (backwards, yesterday's news), not because it's over forty years old, but because it's a passive wait-for-it-to-happen medium, rather than a go-and-get-it one.
This is particularly pertinent with people asking for my CV, I say it's online, they say good; can you email it? These people are living in the Stone Age. (Not blaming them; blaming Microsoft®.)
Also, it'd cost me at least £5 to connect just to send one
email; it'd cost them zilch. So I'm not happy about those sort of requests,
particulary now they say the same thing when I tell them to email my
autoresponder when they say they only have email-only accounts.
email-Only Accounts: Who thought of those, anyway? It's like subscribing
to Sky and only getting terrestrial-radio feed. Rip-off.
